FAQs!

How does this work?

I am a one-woman show, and have a system in place to make sure that I can fulfill orders in a timely manner! This means that most of my yarn is available on a dyed-to-order basis, rather than being ready-to-ship or in-stock.

When my shop is open, you will see listings for each colourway appear. On the yarn shop page, you can order as much as your heart desires, on any one of the soft, squishy bases. This allows me to produce exactly the amount of skeins in each base that are ordered, and ensures that you don’t have to wait forever for your yarn to arrive. The turnaround time for dyed-to-order yarn, from receiving your order to dropping your parcel off at the post office, is currently 3 weeks, however I always do my best to get things shipped well before this deadline. If I have the items to fulfill your order already dyed and on the shelves, they will arrive much sooner!

What about the happy accidents?

Playing with colour often results in skeins that don’t quite match the ideas in my head! This might mean that the colour is slightly off, the speckles are a little bit over the top, or the saturation isn’t quite where I would like it to be. Or, I was just playing around in the dye studio and came up with something unique!

Whatever the case, you get to benefit from my experiments. Happy accidents are available on limited bases and are unlikely to be replicated. While I don’t often have sweater quantities of these yarns, they are perfect for socks, hats, and colourwork!

Do you do gift cards?

YES! I always have a listing available for gift cards. When you purchase a gift card you will receive an email with a code which can be applied at checkout for pre-orders or in-stock yarns.

All gift cards are final sale.

What is up with your colours?

All of the colours that you see are dyed by me, in my basement studio/laboratory. I use precise measurements to ensure that my colours are as consistent as possible. This being said, as with any artisanal product, there will be some variation in colour that adds to the charm and unique nature of the yarn.

My yarns are classified as variegated (where there are multiple colours, big contrasts, speckles or all of the above) or semi-solid.

The colourways have been photographed in consistent lighting with no filters so that they are represented as accurately as possible on your screen. This being said, the yarn you receive may look slightly different in real life than it did when you ordered it on the website.

When working with hand-dyed yarn, either semi-solid or variegated, I recommend alternating skeins to avoid colour pooling.

All yarns have been rinsed with woolwash prior to arriving at your door. This being said, some minor bleeding may occur when you first wash or block your garment. If you are concerned about bleeding, I recommend soaking your garment in cool water with 1/2 – 1 cup of white vinegar for 30 minutes, then let it air dry.

Returns and Exchanges?

I want nothing more than for you to be happy with your yarn purchase. If there is an issue, please reach out to me via email so I can make it right!

I do not offer refunds or exchanges unless there was a mix-up in your order and you received the wrong colours or bases. I am also unable to refund skeins that have been unwound or caked.

Happy accidents and clearance colours are always final sale.

I am a designer and/or small business owner- can we collaborate?

YES! My favourite part of the fibre arts community is connecting with other creative humans. If you are interested in yarn support for your new design, please reach out. I am also able to offer discounts to testers as well.

If you are a small business owner and want to collaborate on a special project, please let me know– let’s make some magic together.
